Getting Started
- Step 1: Download the client and server files below:
- EverQuest_RoF2_Download.zip (2.11 MB)
- ConvergenceFiles.rar (170.86 MB) -- check #client-files in Discord for Download
- Step 2: Extract EverQuest_RoF2_Download.zip and run client_download. It is recommended to run this as administrator.
Step 3: Locate eqgame.exe inside the client folder:- Right-click on eqgame.exe and choose Send to → Desktop (create shortcut)
- Right-click the new shortcut on your desktop and select Properties
- In the Target field, add patchme at the end, after a space
- Example:
"C:\EverQuest RoF\eqgame.exe" patchme
Step 4: Extract the contents of ConvergenceFiles.rar and drop them into your EQ client folder. Overwrite any existing files when prompted.
Optional Bazaar Fix:
If you want to use the old version of the Bazaar zone:- Go to your client folder
- Delete or rename bazaar.eqg
- Spells & Patch Files:
Keep an eye on the spells_us.txt and dbstr_us.txt files posted below. When updated, overwrite them in your client folder.
That's it — you're ready to play on Convergence!
Plan out your toons before you start leveling. A balanced raid is recommended.
Some advice: 2 warriors. 1 or 2 knights. Bard cleric for every group. A dedicated rot group helps a lot. Especially early on. Some sample group setups are listed below.
Tank Group: Bard, Cleric, Warrior 1, Warrior 2, 2nd cleric/druid/shaman, enchanter
Melee Group: Bard, Cleric, Monk, Berserker, Rogue, Beastlord/Ranger/Shaman
Caster Group: Bard, Cleric, Wizard, Magician, Necro, Enchanter/Druid/Wizard
Rot Group: Bard, Cleric x5
Log in Splinterdepot.

Password: convergence (all lower case)
There will be splinters and likely a lot of other gear. Just splinter gear will get you from level 1 to 60 and allow you to start raiding. The other gear on there will jump start you even further.
Leveling to 60.
You can level your toons however you want. There is no penalty on this server for leveling as a raid. For example, a raid of 54 toons from level 1 to level 60 took just over 3 weeks from creation to level 60. These toons had tanks fully decked in splinter gear to start and did have a lvl 60 druid tagging along to help, but with a Shoala stick or going to hub for buffs, you can actually receive more beneficial buffs. Path taken - 1 to 20 Kurns, 20 to 35 Mistmoore, 35 to 45 City of Mist, 45 to 53 Velks, 53 to 60 Sebilis.
